How much?

I just had a friend install Vista x64, just to try it out, and he said it was faster than his 32 bit version. He loved it.

There are a couple of important programs that do not work in Vista 64. One of them being the Cisco VPN client. Another, 64 bit Flash. You have to use the 32 bit IE to get Flash to work. My fingerprint reader doesn't have 64 bit drivers either.

Otherwise, everything works. Fast too. I love it. Started playing HL2 again, which has native 64 bit support, and I know it's faster. Looks great too. I just wish I did some benchmarking before I installed 64. Perhaps what I'll do is install 32 on another HD and benchmark the wares.

Also, although my Kaspersky suite works in 64, it runs natively in 32 bits. There are firewalls that are 64-native, but don't have the complete protection of Kaspersky.

Oh well.. It is only natural that all home operating systems will eventually move to 64 bit. Just the fact that a 32 bit OS doesn't support 4 gig of ram is a major problem. And hey, anyone still using 16 bit? It's just a matter of time..

Dude, whats wrong with you? You can't say something is 10-15% without showing proof. If you "know it's faster" why don't you test it, prove it, and we'll all "know it's faster."

Download FRAPS:
http://www.fraps.com/download.php

Run it, check under FPS save detailed benchmark statistics MinMaxAvg.

Then go to vista 32bit and test crysis again. If you uninstalled vista 32, go partition your hard drive and reinstall it to new partition.

Then report back here.

Heh, no offense, but HP gains from CAI boxes are DYNO'd and have written proof. Not only 15 HP. I've seen upwards of 30.

Now take your foot out of your mouth.

As for 4 GB of ram, yes, the MB has overhead that snatches away a few megabytes here or there.

Try to run a 32 bit OS on 8 gigs of memory..

And btw, my friend said it's faster.

I guess I'm retarded. 2-3 HP?

Here's a 64 bit OS, with a 10-15% speed gain. Dyno on the way.

Man, you're taking this way too seriously. Have a Martini, on me.
