Im kinda a noob when it comes to these games.........in fact i have never really played a role-playing game. This is sort of catching my attention though and am pondering the idea of purchasing my first role-playing game tomorrow if i could find a copy. Would a FPS addict like me find liking in Oblivion as my first role playing game? can you play online?

peace

It's single-player only. Give it a shot, you might like it.

I just called the EB Games near me to ask about Oblivion, and the guy said that Oblivion for the PC was pushed back to the 28th. I told him that he must be mistaken as I know of people who have it already. He disagreed and hung up on me.

I called around to all the Gamestops near me and they say it is coming out tomorrow (21st) like I thought. They told me that I will have a hard time getting a copy as they already have preorders for all of their incoming copies.

I am not too thrilled about how I might have to drive all over L.A. looking for a copy. If I get the runaround, I'll be a bit(torrent) pissed off. pun intended.

I hope this Nvidia patch coming out on Wednesday will help clear up some of the issues I'm having. Like I was saying, sometimes my fps when I'm indoors (haven't been outdoors yet) will go down to 15-20 fps and everything is not even at max. Textures are and stuff but most of the stuff isn't at max while running at 1680x1050. Running a 7900gtx, I would think that the game would be 30fps at all times.

I think you need to look into lowering your resolution, that seems to be what is killing you so bad.

your rig could destroy this game at lower resolutions, I just think it's the most taxing thing on any system.

I hope royal's performance issues are due to the drivers. There is a very good chance that it is. Why else would Nvidia be scrambling last second to get a driver out JUST for 1 game? There might be a reason that the preview systems were equipped with x1900's rather than an Nvidia card.

All i can say is, I had better get more than 10-30 fps in this one with my new (expensive) video card.

The 7900-series is new and most new Nvidia cards usually have a little performance issue until the first update after release. I am sure it will get better for you when the new driver comes out.

That's only with NVidia cards right? the X1900 is capable of running it with both on i believe.
