A deadly virus designed by the military to wipe out small countries is accidentally released into the water supply of a small city. The virus does not simply kill humans, it is highly infectious and mutates humans into terrible monsters that seek only to cause as much death and destruction as possible. You are a survivor in this small city and now you have to fight to survive and escape the horrors you face.
The gameplay takes the form of a 3D top-down shooter that is playable solo or in co-op with friends. Levels generally consist of getting from point A to point B though they are occasionally interrupted by puzzles requiring you to pull a certain lever and such. Most of the gameplay consists of the player mowing down waves of mutants using anything from assault rifles, shotguns, explosives and a lot more weapons as well as drivable vehicles and then using the money earned from doing so to buy or upgrade weapons in-between levels.
