Gothic 4: Arcania is the fourth installment of the Gothic series, and the first one developed by a company other than Piranha Bytes; the game was developed by Spellbound.
War covers over the Southern Islands like a blood-drenched shroud and finally, and reaches the idyllic isle of Feshyr in the Southern Seas. The protagonist of Arcania: Gothic 4 returns from an adventure to find his home town pillaged and looted. The aggressors’ ships - with an Eagle displayed on their billowing sails - escape over the horizon.

Seeking revenge, the hero leaves the destroyed city behind and soon realizes that this cowardly attack did not just happen on a reckless mercenary's whim. An evil power lies waiting at the threshold of this world, and our hero will need to face this nameless evil. Yet the hero is not alone - his fate is linked to that of a beautiful, mysterious lady as well as a powerful artifact from the long-forgotten distant past.

Vert- with a centered HUD? Funny, it's usually the other way. But i suppose an FOV is likely to be easier to fix, no?

And semi-official answer:
The game does not officially support Eyefinity.

At least they didn't beat around the bush and say they were looking at it.

EDIT - A fov fix shouldn't be too hard if this engine is anything like the G3 engine.

Weirdly, tallscreen doesn't work as expected either. Usually vert- games will expand vertically, and while that is happening, I also appear to be losing some width here:

If I launch the game in a window and then use Ultramon to force a window size, it stretches rather than being vert-. Not really an improvement, but interesting.

Select the resolution from the Options/Graphics menu.
By default only resolutions of the same aspect ratio than the desktop are shown. Tick the 'Show all resolutions' box to populate the list with all resolutions available (useful for windowed mode or single-screen gaming over a multi-mon desktop).

Settings are saved in DocumentsArcaniA - Gothic 4VideoSettings.xml

The game is also Vert- in widescreen, see the Wiki (under G as in Gothic 4).
Actually it seems the game is Hor+ from tallscreen to 5:4, then Vert-.

The rendering of water is also broken in tallscreen:

Gothic 3: Genome Engine (Piranha Bytes' own, also used in Risen)
ArcaniA: Vision Engine (same as Settlers 7, which is natively Hor+)
