In Windows 7 the correct folder for the .ini file is:

C:ProgramDataUbisoftTom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos TheorySplinterCell3User.ini

You need to enable viewing hidden files, folders and drives for this.

Weird spot... thanks for posting the location. I just installed the Steam version that was just released, as I assume you just did, so it was helpful to read.

No more Starforce BS to play this amazing game!

Same for Vista.

Does this solution still work with the lastest version (1.5) of the game?
I bought it on steam, it has native support for 1920x1080, but the FOV seems to be hardcoded?
I changed desiredfov and defaultfov in both SplinterCell3User.ini in "C:ProgramDataUbisoftTom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory" and "steamsteamappscommonsplintercell chaos theorySystem", but the fov won't change.

I'm on Win7.

yuvh, have you started a new game after editing the FOV values ? You can also try to zoom in and out to "activate" the new FOV if you running a save game, please post back if it doesnt work.
