Ben Hur was a film in the 50's that was 2.35:1 in aspect ratio IIRC. Look it up on IMDB or wikipedia if you want to know more about the film itself.

ah thanks, i didnt know the movie introduced 2.35:1 ratio

It's similar to 21:9, which is amazing, i'd personally take (whatever inches compared to a 1920x1200 26") 21:9 screen over 3x 16:10 eyefinity setup any day.

i saw the 3D vizon 21:9 screen at CES - it was amazing! passive 3D, no bullshit shutter glasses, and better "surround" feel than my current eyefinity setup
