Nice report.

For the record the game iteslf works fine so far (initial test) at 8064 x 1600, which is the ATI bezel compensation resolution with 3 x 30" monitors at max resolution, and an FOV of 115 (need to play to see if I can get that better).

However, the starting menus are huge, and dissapear off screen, so setting up games is, shall we say, interesting.

The starting menu's knack the score to a B- from the compatiability perspective. A+ for fun though.

Yeah, the main menu is an issue.

If we drop it to a D though that tells me the game is unplayable in widescreen, really. Stretch games are D, as I recall, so I think C is the best place for it.

I am open to other input though.

Is there any hope of fixing this menu outside of FOV changes? I don't think the menu overlays are really FOV related...it just doesn't size based on ultra wide resolutions (such as 3x1 EF setups).

Is there any settings in any of the .ini files that could adjust the size or margins on the menu windows?

Well the options can be accessed from within the game, so really you only need to hit enter twice and not worry about it too much... if you absolutely need to use the main menu, use a 16:9 res to do so, then change your res back when done.

As for a way to fix it, it probably would have been found already if anyone was trying. I don't really monitor the Borderlands forums and such though, honestly I was bored of the game after 10 or so hours, so I can't really say for sure.

Menu don't bother me really. But what we can do with huge weapon model, vert- scope view and sprint revers view? :(
Game is just unplayable in TH!

Does it work for the latest patched version of Borderlands? I can not access the bottom FOV section. It's all grayed out. I'm using 64bit Win 7.

it's grayed out because the .ini file does not exist. you need to start the game and make some changes in the controls-section so that the .ini file get's created.

Ok so a big thanks to everyone who contributed on this thread. I only just got Borderlands and am findi9ng all the same issues, unsurprisingly. I have pretty much decided to run this game as a single-screen game, the FOV hack just doesn't make the game playable enough. Although, I do know all the menus off by heart now, seeing as I can't see most of them when running at 48:10.

I'd agree that this game is unplayable (on the basis of not being enjoyable rather than physically impossible) on an Eyefinity type setup.

However, I love the game and will continue playing it on single screen. Makes me want to upgrade to 3 x 30inch monitors though, so damn hard to go back to one 22 inch monitor after using 3 for so long now...

the "console" fix listed for this game doesn't work for me

Well, I mean it does change the FOV, but it erases all the established key bindings.

And then hitting the in-game reset to default to bring them back to what they were erases the F11 key's FOV function.

so....

I dunno. Somehow it's working now.

Anyways.

How does one come up with what FOV to use until it feels "right" or normal?

Do we know the baseline FOV? It would occur at 16:9 in this case, right?

And most would agree that's too narrow an FOV.

But then is it really only arbitrary what to increase the FOV to?
