I'm dumb. you're right. I didn't think pre rendered cutscenes vs in game. I played a little bit more and it looks like the black bars are gone. Thanks for clearing that up @f4Lk and thank you @susahamat for the fix!

https://i.imgur.com/Z8OKAoW.jpg Works on my machine, jalex897 :) I don't see 21:9 aspect ratio in the options menu but the 3440x1440 is correct and as you can see in the screenshot the black bars are gone in conversations.
