Hello all, I tried the Starwars pod and I am impressed. http://static1.squarespace.com/static/53daa276e4b040c0690e1deb/t/55add835e4b035a17a84f9fa/1437456437928/?format=750w With one projector (on further investigation it is a 1080p 4000 lumen NEC projector) and a custom fisheye lens, they have manag... |

To truly address FOV in MSFS, you need to make a bunch of camera view slices to fill the external rendering area. There are a few simpit specific forums that explain how this is accomplished. To clarify though when you add more cameras you divide the efficiency MSFS has to render everything. It's a... |

Hrrrm, interesting looks like he's doing around 120 degrees or so. My main question is how are they handing the focus range on the screen? There has to be issues at the center and edges with clarity for text. You can hide a lot of issues in a 640x480 picture. What are they doing to not lose pixel h... |

Hi there -- I would like to create/purchase a curve screen which flexible and can easily be setup, and rolled up depending on the required size. The curve screen will be used for cinema viewing, and flight simulator (aiming for a 180 degree wrap) when required. Has anyone tried using a setup similar... |

The Cobra looks good. Also looks very much like the iDome. You can build an iDome with a standard security mirror, that costs around £50, as appose to £6000 for a Cobra (minus projector!!). http://www.barriersdirect.co.uk/safety-and-security-at-work-c1077/convex-mirrors-safety-security-mirrors-c104... |

Hi OmniAtlas, Have you access to a laser cutter? I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't make a quick plug for Infinitx. If you are interested in getting in on the beta program, drop me a line :) Cheers! Hi MightyAtom, your project looks very interesting -- I don't have the room right now but I woul... |

I've actually spoken in detail with the manufacturer of that screen. It has some ok ideas but there are a few flaws in the design. Basically, it's using a Paul Bourke iDome security mirror design to achieve it's FOV with single projector. My suggestion is you learn from the design but not waste $5k... |

First surface mirrors are expensive -- the quote I got was about ~600 AUD for half a mirror. There are cheap first surface mirrors on ebay and also you can make them using optical mylar. Rear projection tvs use optical mylar mirrors. Personally, I'd suggest you make a frame and stretch optical myla... |

First surface mirrors are expensive -- the quote I got was about ~600 AUD for half a mirror. With that kind of price it might be better to just save up a little more and buy 2 projectors. To the OP -- Is this like something you want to do? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA8Bz5107dk&list=PL5AD647... |

I can confirm that 3DVS is limited to only three-displays. On the nVidia side of things, 2 display would require Matrox DH2G Digital use. I believe you can use 2 displays/projectors on a nvidia card with this -- http://www.zotacusa.com/zotac-displayport-to-dual-hdmi-adaptor.html -- edit -- seems li... |

I have also seen 2 projector builds -- only downside right now is the resolution will be terrible, I'll only be able to afford 2x 1280x800 To further explain, it really depends on your end use. Simulation, gaming and video content will look ok with the resolution. If you're doing spreadsheets on th... |

Thank you for the advice bhawthorne. I worked out some numbers with the benq 1080st last night with the benq calculator and it came up to about a 133" screen at 2 m. Have you tried throwing a projector at a corner wall with the center screen midline? I may attempt that before purchasing/making ... |

It'll be fine for non-text for the most part. Your brain doesn't process that the outer edges might be out of focus a little in a setup like that. At issue is a lot of the FSX menu is going to be towards the left edge and you'll have problems reading the menu. Only a minor irritation, not a game br... |

Yes, if you look at the lower left corner you can see the text is warped. I don't know what software they are using; probably NTHUSIM. I would like to setup something like this -- perhaps with a BenQ W1080ST projector; it would lead to considerable costs savings (1 projector vs 2) However I am sure ... |
