So...no idea what to do from here:))

The only way from here is to madness.

I've went ahead and dusted off SoftTH for some experiments, and ran the game at 3840x3073 (5:4 aspect ratio). This surprisingly worked fine, so it's clearly not a resolution lock but has to do with the aspect ratio.

SoftTH works fine for most games, but it's notably slower than hardware solutions, and only supports DX9. also, if you have an ati card, SoftTH versions 2.00-2.04 are buggy and may require some fiddling.

Actually, the mouse issue is a known problem in SoftTH 2.0 and up. you should probably keep using the older versions for WoW

Yeah, SC doesn't entirely enjoy being forced into surround as performance went down the drain for me too. Even worse was that the mouse became rather inconsistent, making aiming a whole feat in itself. Although, the latter issue may have been SoftTH related and i should probably get myself a hardwar...

Nobody seems to have noticed, but as of version 1.03 the game has proper TH support.

Here it is running at 3840*1024 with SoftTH

You may need to edit the configuration file, as it didnt seem to properly detect the resolution or the aspect ratio.
