I have tested this on my unlocked 6950 2GB and can confirm that the tearing fix works as intended. No problems so far for me as far as stability or performance is concerned. I'm waiting to read other posts stating that the fix has worked on the 6xxx cards before I do any driver updating. The last d... |

I've been using 3x1 Eyefinity since the HD 5770. I've moved from that to HD 6870, tried HD 6870 CFx (no good for me), sold the 6870's and am now using HD 6950. The only real issue I have presently with Eyefinity is the tearing on the DP connected monitor. So, this option would not suit my purposes a... |

So far [knock on wood] the only oddity when using Eyefinity now is with the lock-picking. That mini-game gets zoomed in to about 30 times its normal size. But, at least it zeroes in on the lock so I can still do it. |

When you say, "I was finally able to play for quite a while during this last session without a CTD at all. ", What changed between this last successful, low FPS session, and the previous where you could only play ~3 minutes and then CTD? Someone with Crossfire configuration exp is going to have to ... |

After having logged over 200 hours in this game, I finally decided to try the HayDen Eyefinity app available here. I started it up, then started Skyrim. I was able to get a 6048x1080 resolution working. But, the menus are very zoomed in and not that easy to navigate. However, it does seem to be play... |

Anytime the two cards are Crossfired, you will not be able to use the outputs for the secondary card. This, at least, has been my own experience. So, in Crossfire, only the outputs of the primary card are usable. |

Since the problem follows that particular monitor, I think you are on the right track to RMA it. Keep us posted on the outcome. |

This is a quote from a reviewer of a Sapphire Flex card: "Stock AMD cards require that one of your monitors have a DisplayPort input, but such monitors are rare. Sapphire's FleX cards let you use the two DVI and the HDMI port in Eyefinity mode, so you can play games on two DVI and one HDMI monitor, ... |

it's a dell xps, with a q9450 2.66ghz, 4gb ram, radeon 5870 1gb, 980w psu. the gpu is 2 years old and i've never cleaned it up, so maybe that's the issue, as it starts stuttering after 40 minutes in the game (i'm playing iracing). problem is that i don't know if it's possible or easy to open it up ... |

Well, the tearing is an issue for me. So this means I 1. have to get a Flex card, or 2. get three monitors with (mini)DP outputs. However, choice number 2 is very, very expensive. But getting active adapters is also expensive, so I guess I getting a Flex card. Am I about right in my conclusions her... |

So if I were to connect my monitors like this: 1 x DVI, 1 x HDMI and 1 x DVI to mDP, will it work? Or is the Flex edition just an overall better choice? As for "will it work" you should be able to get Eyefinity working, yes. But, with this configuration, I would almost expect tearing on all three d... |

The way I have my own HD 6870 connected for Eyefinity is using 2 x DVI + Mini-DP->DVI active adapter. And, yes, I get tearing on the DP-connected monitor. In order to not be so distracted by this, I make the DP-connected monitor one of the end monitors since gaming action takes place on the CENTER m... |

Everything you've listed is very acceptable except for the displays....IMHO. If I were to do Eyefinity again from scratch, I'd very definitely opt for native DP connection on the displays. The main reason is due to all the problems I...and many, MANY others have had with the adapters to make it wor... |
