If you can wait until Sept or so hold out for the new SB-E (socket 2011, x79 chipsets.)
If not, I think a 2600K with a good mobo would be a good choice. |

If Nvidia ever adds quick profile switching between Extended Desktop and Surround modes, I'll immediately dump my HD5850. Come on Nvidia; ATi can't get their drivers right, maybe you can... I don't think anyone can... maybe Microsoft. Switching to Surround or Eyefinity with either card takes about ... |

lol thats not so bad, the noise is much more noticeable than heat tbh, running tri-sli of GTX 480, and using headphones - no problems at all, the performance is awesome, so is the immersion.
Thanks, thats good enough for me... i'm sold :rockout |

Gran Turismo 5 for sure, that would be sweet with 3 monitors and computing horsepower.
Anything FPS on a console is horrible vs a PC (KB and mouse.) |

SLI/Tri-SLI question for the users with this setup. Hows the heat dump in your homes from this monster setup? I can stomach the price of the cards and water blocks and they would be going into an overkill water cooling setup but i'm not sure I want to turn my office into a sauna. I also like to GPU ... |

Looks like MW2 was recompiled again and broke Widescreen Fixer again. Worked last night, broken now, MW2 shows v1.0.175 vs widescreen fixers 1.0.174.

MORE 5870 frustration... After ordering 3 new Dell DP monitors, the first one showed up today. I was excited to plug it in and solve my eyefinity problems (dell dp>dvi adapter flickering.) I turn on my computer and.... MY 5870 IS DEAD! aurrrgh!! Never OC'd or anything... $$$ thrown at getting an eye... |

Agreed, I'm waiting on 3 Dell 2310Hs and have already RMA'd the dp>dvi adapter. Wish I would have seen this post before buying the active adapter pos and 2 more non DP monitors. Life's too short. I'm tired of dealing with this nonsense. ATI: To release something like this and not bother testing it w... |

Well... count me in as one more dell/bizlink dp>dvi adapter causality. I'm using 3 Samsung 2343bx monitors on a XFX 5870 and the monitor on the DP adapter flashes on and off uncontrollably. Time to RMA this POS and hopefully get my $$$ back... what a money pit. The real unfortunate thing is... when ... |
