[quote] Yea you were, I didn't say anything about my monitors being high end, I was referring to other people who say most people would rather spend more money on a quality panel, talking about the surround vs eyefinity thread. I just think it would defeat the purpose of getting a high end monitor ... |

bowenac, your posts are consistently confrontational and absolutely consistent with fanboyism and trolling. I know (hope) that you don't want to be, or believe you are being either of these things, so might I suggest you just re-read your post before you hit submit. It's not others being fanboys; I... |

Maybe ATI should consider throwing in those DP to VGA adapters. Like you said there only $30 so I am sure they could get a major discount if they bought a bunch of them. Or they could just make them. When I got my cards I didn't know that was even possible, I have now for a while, but at the time I ... |

[quote] HAHA OMG did I say my monitors were high end no, I was talking about people that say it would be better to spend the extra money on a high end monitor. And no you can't get it to match. But thanks for trash talking my monitors. I'm not trash talking your monitors, but I can't understand whe... |

[quote] VGA yea that would look great now wouldn't it, have you ever ran a digital to analog before it does not look that great. One of your monitors would look different, or are you going to use all VGA. That would then defeat the purpose of getting high end monitors if you are going to run them o... |

It's really a matter of the quality you "need" and the games you play. I don't know about the other titles, but I did get FC2 to hit 39fps at max settings at 5040x1050 on a single 5850. I hit 56fps at 0xAA/High. For many people that would be fine. http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/ATI_Radeo... |

[quote][quote] To be fair for the majority i bet a DP port would be less hassle and money than 2 SLI cards. Not if you already have monitors and have to buy ALL new monitors just so you can use DP, but no one does that anyway, they just buy the $100 adapter. Or the $29 HP DP -> VGA adapter which se... |

[quote][quote]5850 is more than enough for 5040x1050. Sorry but imo no way  , 3 x GTX 480 seems to be "enough" now to me at 5040x1050. I wont spend 5 grands in a rig to be play on low / medium settings, no AA and all that crap. I think its a matter of personal preferences. Cheapest entry poi... |

suiken_2mieu: "5850 is more than enough for 5040x1050" Riiiiiight. So i can max out bfbc2, mw2, fc2, crysis, crysis 2, avp, etc... with just 1 5850 at that resolution? I find that a bit hard to believe... Also, 30fps or dropping quality settings != maxed out. I like my games to run well and I defin... |

[quote]While I agree with you on some of the debate, you overlook that you can do surround with 2 series cards which can now be picked up for cheap. So that could be compared to ATI low end offerings as well. And I am honestly not trying to convert anyone to Nvidia, I could care less, but in realit... |

The only way pricing arguments can have any relevance is if each individual buyer crunches the numbers that apply to HIS situation. There are too many factors (budget, preferences, upgrade vs new system) for one generalization to apply for everyone. I often find it annoying when someone decides to ... |

Where are those 24" 1080P IPS DP monitors? My monitors don't suck and they are cheap. But they don't have DP, so where can I find a 24" DP monitor for the same price I got my monitors for so a user would not have to pay the $100 for the adapter. Lets say the user wanted 24" I don't want 22" and I ju... |

I read the PCPer review, and I don't get some of his cost analysis. He adds the cost of the ActiveDP adapter to the ATI setup because he couldn't find a monitor with a DP connection in the "low-end (sub $230) 24-in 1080p panels available". I have rarely seen them in that price range as well, everyo... |

It seems that the GTX470 in SLI hits the sweet spot for the price/performance ratio. That will probably be my next setup.
Same here going to sell my 5870's and probably get some 470's. |

Of course it's really down to a personal opinion.... I agree it comes down to opinion, but you should not have said that GTX cards suck because they don't. They suck to you because of Heat and High Power usage. I don't know about you but I want performance, and I assume most people who buy high end... |
