Nice but you used lack of Physx as an argument against eyefinity?

I dont see what that has to do with anything. If you really want Physx you can get a Nvidia card and use it as a PPU while the ATI card drives the eyefinity.

Hi it will only be able to extend the display on the second graphics card. You won't be able to duplicate the primary display or use it to create part of an eyefinity group. You won't be able to use mismatched monitor resolutions to create an eyefinity group. You can't make a 4 monitor group without...

I have been using a 1KW OCZ proxstream all along its not to do with power.

I noticed it got worse after I messed with overdrive.

Yes and this is when the 2D clocks go lower than they should.

I think it could be caused by ATI powerplay and a problem with the driver and 2D clock settings at non stock 3D clocks. When one display monitor is connected on the 5800 series and the card is in 2D mode the card is downclocked to 157Mhz core and 300Mhz memory. When 3 displays are connected the 2D c...

I wouldn't say that the limits are superficial, in fact that are just less obvious. The boards have different layouts which can affect performance and the 5850 has a 3 phase power supply while the 5870 has a 4 phase. The reference cooler on the 5870 has a significantly higher TDP as well Thanks Dav...

I agree with you, but the question is what happens when you overclock the 5870?? It goes ahead again, maybe not 15% but when your at the margin of 25 vs 30fps thats the difference between playable and not playable and with no crossfire support for eyefinity in sight yet I felt personally it was a s...

Its nowhere near to 15% performance increase for a few reasons. The memory chips are the same on the 5850 so they overclock to the same speed and same buss, same bandwidth. The 5850 has 2 x 6 pin connectors so it is not power starved which was the case with the 4850 and you can control the voltage w...

Disable all except 1 display. Right click create group 3 x 1. Screen might flash and show all cloned click ok and unplug the USB Dell DP-DVI adapter and plug it in again. The group might now appear if not create group 3 x 1 again. This should work to create the group it doesn't matter that they are ...

Thanks for the links just tried the Borderlands fix and its working :D A 1080p 50" HDTV is nice for movies but you can't really compare it with the image quality at 3150 x 1680. I might as well have just got an xbox 360 if I wanted to game at those resolutions. Also it would cost twice as much money...

well i see your point, but most games now-a-days has some way to fix the FOV. be it automatic, console command, or blatant hack. So there are in most cases a way to play with the extra FOV. Out of the games I have installed at the moment Crysis, GTA4, NFS shift, Empire total war, Call of Juarez bou...

3150 x 1680 is a 17:9 aspect ratio which means any game that supports 16:9 will look pretty good without really needing FOV adjustment if FOV adjustment is even possible with that game. 5040 x 1050 is so wide that unless the game is designed to adapt the character or HUD the game is unplayable. A lo...

I have the same issue using the apple mini displayport to dual link DVI. It occasionally loses signal and creates a black screen but it doesnt break eyefinity and the image comes back a second later. I thought it was an issue with the apple device but it seems the dell device is also effected. :?
