[quote]The only way around it at the moment is to use a modified EDID as detailed in this thread http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=17635. But the EDID being detected by CCC shows it supports 120hz already, how would modifying it help? EDID detects 120hz Single Display ...

Hey Sideeffect, thanks for all your input and help to others in terms of getting to grips with this wonderful new technology's minor teething issues. I'm amazed and thankful every day when I start up Windows 7 and my 2 T221's display at full res/refresh thanks to Eyefinity + the EDID hack. Yeang Th...

You're behaving as if this is a known working method, but the posts in your thread seems to indicate that only you have been successful thus far - which is not encouraging. No one is reporting actual success trying to reduce their max res down to 5040x1050. That's the reason I started this thread a...

So I'll make one last appeal: is there any way to fool Eyefinity into thinking my monitors have a max res of 1680x1050 (5040x1050)? Do the EDID mod from the other thread it takes 10 minutes to make the driver. You could have made it days ago and saved some time. ATI is well aware of the issue and m...

So I guess 9.12 is supposed to be out tomorrow. Anyone using 9.12 beta? Where can I get the beta at it is not listed anywhere that I can seen on ati site. Sorry I am used to Nvidia posting beta drivers for people to use. Beta's are not released for every ATI release and hardly ever on the ATI websi...

The 5970 is just clocked lower than the 5870's that is why it appears slower in stock benchmarks. 5870 stock = 850 Core 1200 Mem 5970 stock = 725 Core 1000 Mem At the same clock speeds the 5970 would be faster than 2 x 5870 because you remove data transfer penalties between the cards. Also the 5970 ...

Edit update : Now 5 hours up time with no problems. Nice, seems to be fixed or at least reduced to usable levels. There isn't a colour difference with the Apple adapter, I wouldn't be able to identify which is displayport if I didnt know. Are all monitors using the same quality cables? All dual link?

I have 3x Samsung 225BW now but I made the mistake that I thought I could just use a DP->DVI passive cable. Now that I know I need a DP converter which is like 130EUR I decided to sell my monitors and go for the exact same 3 Dell monitors that you have. I just have one question. What do you prefer?...

Yes its probably the voltage limiting you. You generally need 1.2 volts+ to get to 1Ghz and above.

Did you try this ? http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/tweaking/video_cards/companies/ati/models/hd_5970_overvoltage_utility/14621.html

The TH2Go is seen as a monitor and it has its own EDID. You would need to set it for 5040x1050 to get Windows to see it. The whole point is that the box fools Windows into seeing one super-wide monitor Aren't EDID timing unique to a monitor? Ah ok. The timings add up to 60Hz so should be safe. I di...

I run Dirt 2 with everything on High and get 40 + FPS using a 5850. You don't really need AA at such huge resolutions I tried to notice the difference on Left 4 dead 2 between 8xMSAA and 2xMSAA and I couldn't at 5040 x 1050.

I move a window around I get distortions on the other monitors that looks like This http://home.comcast.net/~mckie_titus/after_installing_clone.htm

McKie I told you what causes that flickering in the other thread. All you need to do is run stock clocks in 2D mode and you won't get it.

You need to remove all other options or it won't work. Don't edit an existing EDID make a new one that is empty. The Eyefinity/TH2go isn't controlled by the EDID you don't set 5040 x 1050 in the EDID you set the monitor limits so if you require 5040 x 1050 Eyefinity you set 1680 x 1050 in the monito...

The 400MHZ GPU and 1200MHZ Memory would be the 2D clocks. When the card is stock clocked with no overclocking the 2D clocks apply correctly based on how many monitors you are using so 400Mhz/1200Mhz because you have 3 monitors connected. When you overclock the card this 2D clock check seems to break...

No I havn't had a problem with NFSS. I use 9.11 hotfix driver and the 1.02 NFSS patch. Before the patch I used to rename the shift.exe to grid.exe to improve performance.

I did have a menu freeze problem when Steam was running in the background but shutting down steam fixed that.
