Thanks. :) At least we know that the SDK is not the cause of surround issues on the game or can cause issues in future games with the SDK. That being said, I'm still not happy that there was an unexpected result. We need to figure out how to minimize these things. Not easy when we don't control the...

For me the kicker is that the multi-monitor landscape has changed, I daresay permanently. If studios and publishers now have to contend with hardware/feature separation in multiple directions--even if implementing one platform might make it much easier to support the others--I fear multi-monitor su...

Sunspot is checking if the SDK could have influenced/interfered with the support for other surround users. I have been told by the EF Feature Manager (no, I don't manage EF anymore) and the ISV Engineer who worked with Ubisoft that the SDK does not interfere with support for other surround users. Wi...

PS. GeneralAdmission tested the SDK and it shows that the Eyefinity support does nothing for TH users. Does the SDK interfere with the surround support which normally would work on both TH and Eyefinity? I'll inquire. Unless there was some technical reason that required it, any interference would be...

Heh - Mr. Bennett fired off an inquiry to us as soon as y'all brought the issue to his attention. Rather than duplicate everything in two places, we will work to give Kyle an answer/explanation/whatever and trust that he will (as usual) be a sharp but fair judge for what we are doing. Otherwise he m...

What's the release date of the 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%201305520549%20106793261%201067949754%201068337012&name=2GB Well it would have been nice if the stock had lasted more than a few hours. The real issue is t...

That graph doesn't have enough information, what resolution and settings was it at (and yes I went to the wiki url you linked first). It also says it only has a .7 fps benefit. Anyway I was more thinking of the 5970 4GB that we are talking about in this thread (not a 5870 1GB vs 2GB), I somehow dou...

when can we expect the support for hd rdy screens/projectors with eyefinity. i have three 720p projectors, but instead of 3840x720 i can only choose 5760x1080 (and some lower but in my case worthless resolutions). all projectors are found with name in the ccc. as eyefinity always chooses the highes...

When this card does release will it be able to do 5x1 portrait with a 6th monitor on top. If so could you update Hydragrid to 5x1. As it is right now the most you can do in portrait is 3x1 unless I'm missing something. I prefer to stay in eyefinity when doing 2d work and not switch back to extended...

Does anyone know if Eyefinity 6 will support 5 X 1 or 6 X 1, depending on display resolution. As I understand it, Eyefinity 6 has a 8K X 8K pixel limit when it comes to output resolutions. BTW. This is similar to Dual Quadraplex... Yes, someone knows. :D 5x1 is not currently supported. 6x1 is curre...

I am starting to relocate from Silicon Valley to Austin, so my time on the 'net for fun has been very limited the last few weeks and for the next several weeks. I haven't finishing playing DA, COD, BS2, or ME2, so it isn't like I am ignoring y'all. I forgot what a pain in the *ss moving is and how m...

Any news on the ATI Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition? I'm about to commit about $1,200 into getting 3 more monitors, the 6-output card, adapters, and mounts. I'd Feel better about it if I knew when I could use it. Are you guys stalling on Release because of NVidia? lol no. And from our perspectiv...

When the eyefinity 6 version card comes out will I be able to game on 3x1 and use my desktop on the remaining screens? Well... I'd like to answer that question, but doing so would be too revealing about what we are doing... and we do have a competitor whom we absolutely need to keep guessing. Like ...

Dave, is there a limitation to the resolution that one single DP port can push? I can't help but believe that at some point in the future, a very large, wrap around panel is going to emerge, and we'll look back at multi-display systems and chuckle. Will DP be able to handle this kind of resolution ...

Most of us here at WSGF, not to mention the various simulation forums, are coming from an enthusiast point of view. In one of the sim forums, the mean age of sim enthusiasts is about 37 years old! What exactly does ATI believe the useful life of a video card is in an enthusiast machine? Depending u...

What do you mean by HDMI is capped at 1920x1080? Or the idea that HDMI cables are expensive? Explain what you mean by HDMI acceptance was very, very poor in consumer televisions (this statement has me baffled), I don't believe I can go to the store and buy a television with a DP port on it, can I? ...

So, I solved my own problem with the T221-DG5 stripes and Eyefinity! Hallelujah! Here's how for those who are interested: I literally cried out loud when I saw the magical full desktop at 3840x2400@ 48Hz! Took quite a bit of fiddling but here's how I did it. Briefly, I used the EDID override approa...

For those who are interested, I found my own solution to the problem I had posted 1 page ago regarding getting the awesome T221-DG5 ultra-high resolution monitor to work at 3840x2400@48Hz in Win7 using Eyefinity. I posted my solution in the main Eyefinity section under my other post - in the intere...

DP takes off from where DVI left off with VESA, and is a license free interface developed specifically for the PC community. HDMI is developed off one of the legacy standards, has royalties associated with it and is being primarily developed for the CE community and as such may add featured that ma...

Yea thats what I figured but in that case why not just go all HDMI. The HDMI port looks to be about the same size as Display Port. Why even add the Display Port at all. The answer isn't as simple as it might appear. BTW I haven't read the entire thread so this may all be addressed by others. I just...
