Just sold my 3 GTX260s and my TH2G, bought 2 GTX470s. I have now tried nVidia Surround, EyeFinity and Matrox, I can tell you that the nVidia solution is the far easiest to set up and use. Noise and Heat of the cards is not an issue if running stock in SLI, but if you start overvolting and overclocki...

Because windows 7 allows the installation of more than 1 video driver to the system. XP does aswell but u cant get Eyefinity with XP

Hence the question about Win7 :)

Why should I have to take the chance of according to Dave B. " of possibly voiding my warranty" on 2 brand new cards at $400 each. This i completly understand, ive got two 5850's both give me issues with the DP adaptor connected monitor. what i dont understand if if my IT company sold items like th...

I Can confirm that this also happens with the DP to VGA adaptor, im running 3x Dell 2209 monitors, 2 are connected directly with DVI and the other via the DP-VGA adaptor. The monitor connected to the DP-VGA adaptor, randomly blinks black, for a few seconds then comes back to life, it does not effect...

Yes this would work, limitations of eyefinity are only, that each screen has to run at the same resolution, and they have to all be in the same rotation. So if you are happy with the screen running out of there native res it will be fine. You may find it heloful to have a few profiles set up, so tha...

I'm under the impression that a single dual-link dvi port can only support resolutions up to 2560x1600 (i.e. 4096000 pixels). If you're trying to do 5040x1050 - that's 5292000 pixels, well above the maximum that dual link dvi can support. You would have to drop the resolutions down a bit - 3x 1440x...

TH2G only supports matched resolutions. maximum supported res is 3x1650x1080@57hz (give or take on the Hz) Now having the middle monitor larger than the other 2 has a few issues/problems First off to see what happens on that monitor with a 1650x1080 res, connect that monitor, and set a windows res o...

Also you can get a PCI Physx PPU. A PCI-e 1x or 4x Nvidia GPU for Physx. All motherboards have spare PCI-e slots except maybe micro atx versions. The cost increase would be minimal. Actually spare PCI-e slots are harder to find that you think, alot of people here that have been into triple head gam...

Ah thank you Sideeffect :D I might go for a cheaper monitor then and use an adapter. Depending on where you live and if you only have 2 current monitors, you may find that a Dell2210 is as cheep or atleast very close to a adaptor + 22" panel. Ill use UK prices as a example, (this may be different i...

[quote] the ram for the second GPU is not used for anything. not exactly true, the RAM for the second GPU holds replicated data from the RAM of the first GPU (assuming CF is enabled) it's true though that there's only 2GB of available memory/framebuffer on a 4GB X2 card which is probably what you m...

Think this is more academic with your setup than anything, as you will be pushing more than 10.1million pixels, in a graphics card that is 2 years old. Your frame buffers are going to be two big even with AA/AF off with the limited VideoRam on that card. On top of that you are pushing half of those ...

The 5870x2 4GB, assuming that is 2GB per core, and not 4gb per core, then the frame buffers and only generated on the VideoRAM allocated to the first GPU, the ram for the second GPU is not used for anything. So in that regard it would still be 2GB/6 Monitors, or 1GB/3Monitors as per then GTX285. In ...

5870 has a performance boost of approx 15% If u can wait to run CrossFireX Eyefinity (when its supported) your 3rd option would be 2x5850's for about 160% of a single 5870 for an additional 33% cost over the single 5870. Keeping in mind that you will need at a very minimum a 650W PSU, and a CrossFir...
