Heureka! Eyefinity works! :D As suggested in the thread above I physically moved the graphic card to another slot in the mother board (PCIEx4) and then installed the catalyst package. Hopefully it still works when I change it back to the proper PCIEx16 slot again? Hold your thumbs, as we say in Swed... |

@elmy:
I cannot group 2 screens, both DVI to DVI, with the correct resolution. The problem (right now) is not the displayport.
I will soon go back to my laptop with TH2Go instead...and throw the new computer and the 5870 in the trash.

I uninstalled alla ATI software (again) and went into safe mode. I used ccleaner to clean the registry from leftover Matrox or ATI files. I used driversweeper to clean any leftover driver files. I installed ATI Catalyst 10.2. Everything basicly looks the same, it does not work to create a group acco... |

Thank you for taking time to help! :) @magoo25: I have reinstalled the entire ATI software including graphics driver several times and tried both 9.12 and 10.2. However I have NOT used any driver sweep. Which driver sweep (and registry cleaner?) is safe to use? Is it straight forward how to use it? ... |

I searched the registry for "matrox" and found this:

Should I delete folder 001? The other folders talk about PnP screens...
Edit: It did not help to remove folder 001. |

Hello, I'm going crazy. On my previous computer I used TH2Go, but now I wanted to try Eyefinity and recently bought a computer with ATI 5870. Unfortunately I cannot group my monitors. I have read the instructions and watched the video from Sapphire. I have tried the following without success: - Two ... |

Has anyone tried a high resolution monitor or TH connected to a notebook sucessfully?
Yep!
I use my laptop both at work and for gaming with TH and the resolution 5040x1050.
The fps in the race sims GTR 2 (old) and STCC (almost new) are good around 45-55 with settings at high. :D |

Just to update on this apparently its still an issue that they have no solution for. Recently filed a trouble ticket to them and they told me to sit patient and watch the news page for information. That is insane! It has been more than a year of waiting. Are they serious? They are not doing anythin... |

Ok thank you! I will ask the people responsible for the server if it is possible to race without the server manager and in that case give it a try. |

The GTR 2 server does not allow high resolutions, the user will be kicked out from the server. It has nothing to do with TripleHead, only the high resolution. But who uses TripleHead without high resolution? |

Ok interesting!
What does the server manager do? Is the server manager not necessary to run a game on the server? Did you try an even higher resolution (5040x1050) without the server manager? :?: |

I recently bought a TH2G from Matrox and at that time they did not say Vista was limited to a lower resolution. I sure hope they continue to support higher resolutions as they were at the time of purchase. Their test program also stated it was possible to run 5040x1050, otherwise I never would have ... |

This was updated recently, havent tried it myself, but it sounds like it may be ok for higher fov's. Unfortunately the FOV above 85 or so cannot be used with 5040x1680. Rendering becomes f-d up, cars disappear, images blink and such. The update did no difference. For normal resolutions the FOV can ... |

Well in that case I rather use my original screen resolution 1900x1200. I also race in a league and use GTR2-XD by the way.
How hard do you think it is for Simbin to release a fix for this server problem? The game itself works fine with 5040x1680 played locally. |

there is also a limitation in gtr2 when playing online, you can't play with a res over 2400x600 or you get booted for a cheat. in race07 you have to have the fov under 82 i believe or the objects on the side monitor disappear before they should. GTR 2: Is it possible to change a setting on the game... |

I went through the gamut of support e-mailings and calls etc... to both Matrox (who were very helpful, if not successful) and to SimBin/10Tacle (who were totally useless) and ended up finding out the lower res trick from a GTR2 League teammate who also runs a TH2G. The TH2G will work online but not... |

Thank you mattsimis and all others that figured out how to beat the box*! :D
I had almost given up when I read this thread. My monitors refused to work in 1680x1050 until I did the manual settings in nVidia.
