You'd definitely need to upgrade your CPU and GPU. Can your motherboard support a core2quad CPU at least? For GPU, you need at least an ATI 5870.

I knew you were already 100% sure on geting a new PC regardless what people will suggest (like saving money by not upgrading everything). But anyways, since you already bought it, I hope it will be worth your hard earned cash coz that's a lot of money spent for just gaming and visual studio. Also, m...

Why not just get two 24"s and not 23"s to eliminate resolution stretching on your middle screen? Also, matching the colors will be very difficult when using different monitors.

Isn't the 5970 similar to dual 5850s? Not dual 5870s? I wonder if 4 Gb can really make a difference from 2 Gb. It should still be worth it if the price difference isn't much.

That setup will only work if you play FSX (Flight Simulator X) since that game can support for as many monitors/video cards that you can throw at it. This I've tried for myself (1 GPU for 3 monitors and another 1 GPU for the 4th monitor). But for most games, I really don't think this will work.

Maybe it will work but you'll end up losing most games with that set up. It also stresses your eyes too much. Triple monitor isn't suitable for RTS games. Can't have minimap, etc. on other screens.

Get the 5970 when price is not an issue. It should work with Eyefinity.

Lol. I was about to tell you to just wait for the new nvidia cards since you already have crossfire 4870 anyways. I'm sure there is a difference in performance, but price-wise, I don't think it's worth it. Spending $600+ on a new gpu that is only around %25 faster than your current one is a no go. A...

Why still bother playing crysis on 3 monitors? I bet you already finished that game a long time ago. Or maybe it's just for bragging rights? lol. If that's the case, then it's understandable :)

I would say return both cards and buy one 5870. That should be sufficient for now. If ever you want to do crossfire 5870 later, then maybe at that time eyefinity is already supported.
