[quote]Doubling the performance looks like a pretty big difference to me. Sure it doesn't double performance at every rez, but this is HUGE for multi-gpu machines. Not slightly. http://www.guru3d.com/article/core-i7-multigpu-sli-crossfire-game-performance-review/7 But look at the drop off as it app...

The core i7 is so much better than core2 but for gaming? Not really that relevant except in a few games (WiC as mentioned) so I am happy with my core2 with a backup of my core quad if some games that I want come out that really need 4 cores. The I7 SMASHES the Core2duo when more than 1 gpu is used ...

I haven't tried multiplayer. Honestly, I got it in hopes it'd be somewhat like I76, but so far I'm not all too impressed. It's not bad, but I was hoping for more charactor development and a realistic approach. I76 spoiled me. :P Sure wish there was a fix for I76. I can run it triplehead w/a 3dfx wra...

This is an older game(2003) and it's on the list for the supported TH2GO games, but there's one problem... I can't figure out how to get the FOV right. It's very stretched and unplayable. I tried running the 'surround gaming utilty' but it says it can't find the config file and I should start the ga...

Well, bad news. At least for me. The 4320x900 is fine on the desktop, but all my games flash when I use it. So this isn't a confirmed fix I guess. So much for flawless, lol.

Ok, I have a 3870x2 and had the EXACT same problem, but I fixed it. When I first got my TH2GO I had this same problem, just with different resolutions. It would only show standard res and not widescreen. So I just went through the same steps as I did before and all is well! 1. Uninstall all matrox s...

Vanguard is a very good game. Still a little premature, but light years ahead of what it was at launch. It's the only MMO that holds my interest.

I know game spanning has always been on Nvidia, but not on ATI, until now.
So yeah, I was wrong about the xfire thing. But for ATI fans, multi-monitor gaming is a new thing.

Ok, I stand corrected on the "xfire" part. You can hookup the multiple monitors like I was excited about, but if you do, you have to disable xfire.
I was so excited, but I read it closer and it's either xfire or multiple monitors.
Not both. :x

[quote]When I get my hd3870 I'll post my results. :D....you would need two to accurately prove what you're trying to describe. No I don't! It'll work with as many DVI ports as I have availible. Do I need another 3870 to try 3 screens? Yes, but I can still test it w/2 monitors(like a dualhead2go). ....

You can connect 8 monitors or more to a system with 4 GeForce 2 cards if you want; with Windows XP a many-monitor environment is completely possible and has been for a long time. Presumably the same is true for Vista. What Spider gives us is the ability to drive those monitors with 4 PCI-E GPUs, wh...

[quote]That is INCORRECT. Did anyone read the link I posted besides the flight sim one? Here it is again: http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=475&pgno=8 It's not just for ms flight sim! This is a standard feature now on the new cards.I see nothing in there that supports your point. Your l...

Indeed, this kind of setup would be nice for a game that natively supports the connection of more than one independent monitor. However for the majority of games (that only support a single independent display/frame buffer) this "Spider Setup" wouldn't give the same immersive effect that you achiev...

Hey everyone. Just found out that the new ati cards don't require a triplehead2go for multiple monitors. Here's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3jpG3rv4zI a video of Microsoft Flight sim w/8 monitors hooked up to 4x38xx ati's. More info: http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=475&pgno=8 Anyw...
