So I couldn't resist the really good looking screens for the CS Complete mod, so I downloaded and installed. Wow. Quite a significant improvement graphic-wise. Pretty amazing really. The zone looks, sounds and feels even better. Gameplay dynamics are subtly changed as well. I started a new game and ...

Damn, those screens look good! I think I may hold off though...not big on restarting this game, it's too fookin hard! :D

I'm assuming they'll make a similar mod for Pripyat? If so, I'll wait for that. Thanks!

STALKER Clear Sky Complete Mod is out : http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/63031 The SoC version, also compiled by artistpavel, is simply awesome, gonna try this one and post back later. Cool, thanks. If I install this mod mid-game, will I have to restart or is it compatible with existing saves?...

I have to wonder whether game developers in Montreal, Canada, feel the same kind of political tension that denizens of liberal Austin in conservative Texas felt when designing Deus Ex. Maybe it's not necessary that they do. But given the degree to which the original was both political and balanced,...

UPDATE - I'd forgotten how well the game evens out once you get past the insanely difficult, hazing-like, early stages. With a decent suit, upgrades, some artifacts and cash, I am now really enjoying it. Still playing at Master, but it has evened out. I can now usually survive most encounters with m...

[quote]How many times must I defend the bandit depot? I am guessing it will be recaptured ad nauseum by constantly respawning bandits and hence I am giving up this recurring quest. What are you talking about? The devs are going easy on you. They axed the gameplay mechanic where it was captured by ba...

Clear Sky left me with the impression that GSC Gameworld wanted to see just how much punishment a player would put up with... ;) Too freakin right. Sweet bloody hell this fookin' game is hard. Playing at 'Master' and it is mental. M-E-N-T-A-L. Just ranting. My rifle jammed about 4 times in one gunf...

The scotch and the cigarette are very promising signs though. At least they are not afriad of going against the NANNY STATE attitudes around now.

Probably the Montreal influence. They know how to party there. :D

On the off chance that you saw the theatrical cut (featuring narration and a happy ending), give either the director's cut or "final" cut a try. They improve the movie so much it isn't funny. There's not much difference between DC and FC. Basically FC has more graphic violence and fixes a few minor...

You don't happen to have a version of the program that works on windows 7 64-bit?

No, sorry. Only files I am aware of are the ones posted. Do you have a laptop or another PC running XP or something you could use just to flash it?

Really? I've always liked that movie. What impresses me is how well is stands up today in terms of visuals, and the mood/atmosphere is incredible. IMHO of course. :D Ditto on the hopeful-not-to-balls-it-up bit. If they can even get it close to the original I will be a very happy camper, the graphics...

My apologies if this has already been posted... http://www.thetechherald.com/article.php/201010/5371/Eidos-teases-with-new-Deux-Ex-Human-Revolution-trailer Looks interesting, like the nod to Icarus...plus the main character appears to be drinking a shot of scotch, so the game has already sold me rea...

A Viewsonic VX2025wm. Which is about when I joined this forum. :D Fantastic monitor. Were it not for the size/resolution, I would put it above my Dell U2410. It has a *truer* looking sRGB setting and far less noticeable anti-glare.

I'm not sure the drive will actually fit because I have never tried this, but assuming that it will fit: Is putting a hard drive in there a bad idea? I do realize that there isn't much ventilation in that area, but I have run out of places to put them. The drive I would be putting in there would be...

Not sure if you're new to STALKER series or what, but they have a very active mod community. Plus CoP has been out in Russia since I think March 2009 now, there's plenty of CoP mods already. So do yourself a favor and check out all the mods next time, in the meantime I recommend: http://stalker.fil...

Velvet - I really, really like the first Stalker. Great game and as others have mentioned, they nailed the atmosphere. Just awesome.

I'm enjoying CS but it's tough going. Good training though...you finish a Stalker game and then play another shooter and you walk through it. :D

Hopefully...hard to imagine them taking such a big step back? Unless they did it to try and reduce resource loads?

Enjoying CS more now that I've finally got some decent weapons. Nothing like taking on well-armed militia with a crappy pistol and hunting shotgun in earlier battles.

Thought I would start a thread for discussion of both games if that is appropriate? Spoilers follow. I just downloaded Pripyat from Steam and I'm playing Clear Sky now. I'd forgotten how hard this game is. Playing Clear Sky on Master and I'm finding it pretty tough going...anyone else confirm this o...

That is the formula, but I'm not sure it's that easy? The power supply converts from AC to DC and then supplies the various rails with the differing voltages. I did take physics at university but I haven't slept in a Holiday Inn Express in a while...so my memory for equations is foggy. This is what ...
