yep free...it will take forever to download it since no one is torrenting it and everyone is just getting it from a server...expect 3 hour download time. Uh why? I downloaded it from GameSpot yesterday and it took around 40 minutes.... If I was at college yesterday it would have taken like 4 minute...

No actually you guys are wrong about some things.. While it is true that what they are talking about in that article is not "HDTV" but rather just really high resolutions, nvidia cards and drivers do in fact support HDTV output. Have any of you guys connected nvidia cards to HDTVs? I've done so a lo...

I can confirm 1920x1080 and 1920x1200... Also, the exact FOV for 16:10 is actually 90.4 but that's getting picky Also no matter what, increasing the FOV (even to 90) will result in a fish-eye effect on the left and right edges of the screen. To see what I mean, run the game at 90 FOV at a widescreen...

OK now that I've played through the demo, I've confirmed that the game has some sort of bug where, on my system at least (7800GTX) the frame rates are horrible at 16:10 resolution but are just fine at 4:3 or 16:9 resolutions that are about the same number of pixels. Going from 1920x1200 and max sett...

How does Dark Messiah handle 16:10 widescreen? Since it's Source engine I figured it would handle it perfectly, but the readme says 16:10 widescreen is not official supported in the demo (it makes no mention of 16:9).

I'm downloading the demo right now...

>>unless my eyes decieve me, almost all computer monitors are 17 inch and 19 inch LCD's. "Almost all" is a big overestimate. I would estimate that 60% of NEW monitors are 17" or 19" non-widescreen LCDs, about half and half of each. But the majority of monitors currently in use by gamers are old one...

[quote]OK in Jedi Academy, I believe the original FOV is 80. I have a 16:10 monitor and with 1920x1200 resolution I have my FOV set at 90.4. It looks fine to me. There's a slight fisheye on the left and right edges of the screen, but you can't do anything about it. It's just how the game is. Howeve...

That's crazy. What's up with this game? I have a Dell 2405 and I run Battlefield 2 (latest 1.3 patch, on XP 64 no less) in 1600x1200 and I've never had any problems from the game. I've never had to mess with config files or delete anything. I have my 7800GTX set to monitor scaling and my Dell 2405 s...

4:3 is the majority, not 5:4. All standard CRT monitors are 4:3, and all standard LCD monitors aside from 17" and 19" ones are 4:3. That is true, the problem is that 17 and 19 inch LCD's are 5:4 and unless my eyes decieve me, almost all computer monitors are 17 inch and 19 inch LCD's. And even out ...

You can still do it without the latest drivers. The old drivers can do aspect ratio scaling, you just have to find the option differently. Right click the desktop and click on "Properties." Then click on the tab labeled "Settings" (where you change resolution). If you look down you will see a button...

You need to download the latest drivers first.

If you have Windows XP or Windows 2000 click here to download the drivers.

Install the drivers and reboot your computer like it will tell you to do.

Once that is finished you'll see the control panel and you can follow his instructions.

Well obviously, the viewing area should be different for different aspect ratios, but I was saying that a game like Warcraft was obviously intended by the developers to have the same viewable area regardless of resolution. Yes, if Warcraft III did support widescreen (which is does not), it would hav...

I've played those games. Total Annihilation is of my favorite games... and I'm not saying that it can't be done, it just can't be done in certain games. TA uses a 3D game engine with a lot of 2D elements, but the way the engine works is still 3D-oriented so you can do the different resolutions corre...

Fixed resolutions have nothing to do with whether they are 2D or 3D. All it has to do with is whether support for multiple resolutions was programmed or not. The reason Fallout, Starcraft, and Grim Fandango are fixed at 640x480 is because they are hard-coded to it, not because they involve 2D graph...

2D games can only be displayed at whatever resolution they were drawn at... That's why most 2D games (Starcraft) or 3D and 2D hybrids (Grim Fandango) are usually stuck at one resolution only (usually 640x480, sometimes 800x600). Age of Empires 1 and 2 was one of the few 2D games that were drawn in m...

Yeah I've been thinking about this too. I want a W3J too, but I did look at the A8JM because of its nvidia card (and a few other things like more USB ports and DVI port). I have a very powerful desktop computer with a widescreen and surround speakers which got for college last year... but I'll need ...

You should get a 1280x768 screen and play games in either 1024x768 or 1280x720.... Set ATI driver to centered timings... in 16:9 games there will be miniscule black borders at the top and bottom and 4:3 will have bars on the sides obviously... 1280x720 is more supported than either of the other 1280...
