Hey guys, still waiting for a CoD4 gore mod after trying to use the gore effects from WiCoPP's Reaity mod for CoD2 unsuccessfully but meanwhile here's a nice camo skin mod for the US troop uniforms by KnifeInFace. It's a more modern version and is the camo currrently being used based on the "Woodla...

Then comes a game breaking problem for me, you cannot bind many keys (basically locked) some examples are the left/right mouse buttons, shift, alt, ctrl. Actually thats really my only real problem with it, and yes its enough to stop me from buying this game. Any time you make it so i cant do someth...

Correct me if I am wrong...but staring directly at the Sun for a period of time can blind you permanently. So you see light is a direct result of damage to the eye dependent on the intensity... and intensity is a subjective individual thing according to ones own eyeball A person could stare at a li...

Everybodies eyeballs are different. Sometimes it just takes a little eyestrain to send one particular persons eyes over the edge. We were not all born with some bionic eyeball Dim light can cause permanent eye damage...ask Abraham Lincoln, he read and studied law by candlelight for decades and it p...

VERY disappointed with the demo ... Had all settings on max except for AA and it just didn't look very good. Picture quality seemed slightly washed out even after tweaking the in-game brightness setting. Widescreen had that zoomed in feel that Bioshock had, though I haven't confirmed if this is in f...

[quote]Yes, Paradigm, but how does that physically damage your eyes?

I'm sure an ophthalmologist would be able to tell you. ;)

Not to beat a dead horse here, but the links I included in my post to demonstrate that this belief is a myth, were from the American Academy of Ophthalmology :)

Too bright in a too dark room... Yes, Paradigm, but how does that physically damage your eyes? I've known people who insisted on watching TV with a light on in the room because otherwise they thought it would be bad for their eyes--but this is a total myth. It is just something that people grew up ...

I've said it before but often bears repeating. Eye damage usually does not show up until years after daily abuse. When it gets to the point where you experience pain and/or blurred vision, it's too late, the damage is done. Eye damage from what, exactly? I know you can strain your eyes, reading pri...

[quote]My only beef graphics wise is that it was a bit too dark and hard to see detail on my display. Curse LCDs and their poor contrast ratios. That said Undying was plenty scary without being pitch black. Actually many areas in that game were quite well lit, so I'm not sure why seems games have t...

Have to give a thumbs down. Tried the demo and there were one or two nice effects, but overall ... meh. Seemed very console-ish, especially with the insane Press Left, Right, Down sequence ... I could never figure out what those buttons corresponded with on my keyboard so I died over and over again ...

You can play at 1680x1050 or 1440x900 in the full version. It's not offered in the ingame options. I'm not sure about the 1920 resolutions as my monitor won't support that. Go to: C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsPenumbra OvertureEpisode1settings.cfg open settings.cfg with your favorite text edi...

As it uses the Doom 3 engine, there are ways to go to a specific level via the console. Although I never tried it with Prey specifically, just other Doom3 games.. There should be a maps folder either in the game folder or a compressed file. Find the name for which ever map (level) you want adn ente...

H i take that as a no. But when i find a solutiuon i'll post the bastard. STALKER is the same way. It made the game nearly unplayable for me--until I got a mouse with side buttons. Now I can use my thumb to hold on to the ironsights button while I shoot and move at the same time. Not perfect, but I...

As long as a game isn't inherently evil--like one where you run a Nazi concentration camp or something--I'm willing to give it the benefit of a doubt and at least check it out. I don't automatically view Israel as the good guy when it comes to Israeli/Arab conflicts so I'd keep an open mind until I ...

[quote][quote]... In the end they're doing the right thing, and that's what matters. I wouldn't so much call it "the right thing", as it is more of an apology. Just because you say "I'm sorry" for making a mistake, does not erase the fact that you made the mistake in the first place. It'd be like a...

STALKER is an amazing game and there are several mods that really up the visuals with my favorite by far being the realism graphic mod: http://stalker.filefront.com/file/Realism_Graphic_Mod;80082 But more important than any mod are the tweaks you can do to the user.ltx file ... the difference betwee...

And now begins the serious backpedaling to try and recover from this PR disaster. But at least they are doing something.
