I downloaded the NFSMW demo and tried installing it. The install file aborted saying that I need Direct X 9.0c which I have. dxdiag even tells me I have 9.0c and all other games work just fine. If they can't even code the installer properly, I wonder how well the game is even coded.

Btw Paddy, the silver case on your new setup, what is it? Looks like a really nice case.

For that kind of res, you'll need a very good CPU to prevent GPU bottlenecking and 2 PCI-E cards in SLI.

The ATI cards handle this game much better from what I hear. I have an EVGA 7900GTX and I get like 15-30fps with the slider settings only halfway on most of them and at 1680x1050 I only get 15-30fps.

I'll be moving into a new place in a few weeks. Still looking for a nice desk since i have a lot of space in my living room to put a desk. I got some new Logitech 2.1 z2300 series speakers and can't wait to hook them up in the new place. I'll get some new pictures up once i'm situated.

Does "widescreen video resolutions" mean HDTV resolutions? Cause 16:10 widescreen resolutions have been supported since the beta years ago.

I was wondering the same myself. WoW has supported 1680x1050 for a long time.

Royal, are you running with 84.21? I was playing for several hours last night at 1920x1200 with HDR on and didn't notice hardly any lag except at nighttime in an area with lots of flora. Needless to say, this game can be played well in high res with lots of goodies. Yes, I'm using 84.21. I read a l...

I hope this Nvidia patch coming out on Wednesday will help clear up some of the issues I'm having. Like I was saying, sometimes my fps when I'm indoors (haven't been outdoors yet) will go down to 15-20 fps and everything is not even at max. Textures are and stuff but most of the stuff isn't at max w...

Also, Nvidia is releasing a driver so I've heard on Wednesday to optimize Oblivion.

Oblivion is definitely a demanding game. With HDR lighting turned on, it disabled AA and I took a pretty big performance hit. I was running at 30fps but when I would turn I would see my fps take a dive and then it would return to normal. Wasn't very smooth and I have a 7900GTX. I'll have to put my l...

Installing right now. Best Buy wont have until Wednesday (they have been late for every single title I've ever tried to buy from them on release day). I went to Ebgames right after and they had it.

This game looks awesome. I can't wait! I don't have an Xbox360 as it would be a waste of money for me. I just don't like console gaming I guess. I'll pick up the PC version on May 16th.
