btw wouldnt the fact that the crt is 4:3 and the lcd is 16:10 cause problems when using them at the same time? In extended desktop mode you can run each monitor in it's proper aspect ratio with it's own resolution, the options both in the desttop properties and Catalyst Control Center. and if I und...

You are using an analog connection while the centered timings option is only avalable for digital outputs.

What displays support 2100 lines and are the some weird widescreens in portrat mode or what is up with that aspect ratio? Regardless, I've never even seen a videocard listing support for that many lines of resolution.

It is actually 58% more:

2073600 - 1310720 = 762880

762880/1310720 = 0.58203125

I JUST got a WS monitor this week and installed BF2142 again to give it a shot, I used the xyz command or what ever it is to force WS and I think I got a small hit in performance but nothing super bad. Thats going from 12x10 to 19x10. . That performance hit isn't becuase you are running widescreeen...

You have to enable the frame limiter in the emulator to keep it from going over 60fps. The first one is the best in the series, though they are all great games.

Um, so this may be a silly question, but does anyone know how to do a double install of STALKER? I've been playing with some of the mods but I can't use them with Multiplayer, which I still enjoy from time to time. Throwing in the DVD only allows me to start the game, and I'd rather not have to fus...

I wonder when they are going to get around to condemning Francis Ford Coppola for his "Godfather" trilogy.

Again, 1366x768 16:9 while 1280x768 is 15:9, where as with most games you need to stick to the aspect ratio of your display or else the images will be distorted. After we figure out what aspect ratio your display is, then I can recomend lower resolutions which you can add to your drivers to get game...

The patch notes mostly list multipalyer stuff, but single player gameplay is tweaked a lot by the patch. I highly reocmend playing with the patch unless you are far into a game without it, in which case you might as well finish that game off and then you can enjoy the tweaks on your next playthough.

Welcome to the WSGF ... 8) Look here ... Common Widescreen Resolutions ... :D Huh, that page says: 720i/p HDTV [aka SDTV (S=Super) or EDTV] is 1280 X 720. which isn't true, SDTV means standard definition, and EDTV could be used to refer to 720i if 720i was ever used for anything, but 720p used comm...

Understood, but I'm at a loss to find anything about FOV in the game code so I figure at least backing it out a little would at least help, unfortunatly I'm not finding anything to do that with either. I wish the coments in the code weren't all in Ukrainian, I might acutally be able to accomplish so...

I've no clue to how to adjust the FOV by hooking into the exe or whatever Racer_S does with his fixes, but I've been digging around the game code to try and adjust the FOV there like we do in Far Cry. Unfortunatly, I've only been able to move the view up and down so far, not back as we need it to be...

What display are you using? 1280x768 and 852x480, have different aspect ratios so the first thing to do is figure out the aspect ratio of your monitor so you can use resolutions that are appropriate for it. As for 852x480, many video cards only support horizontal resolutions which are divisible by 8...

I adjusted the scoped views so they are round in widescreen rather than stretched into ovals, both 16:9 and 16:10 versions. Simply unzip the aproprate version into your game directory and let it overwrite the fsgame.ltx, there is a copy of the orignal file included incase you care to revert to defau...

Yeah, the 2.0 patch fixes the game up pretty well, and it is a really good game that I think mostly got negative reviews because it is a memory hog and simply chugs with anything less than a gig and a half of RAM. The AI is really weak as well, but they put you up against enough of them at a time to...

At any given pixel count HL2 will likely loose framerate going to widescreen as it incresses the Horizontal FOV, while BF2 crops off the vertical which could only improve framerate. What resolutions were you running in BF2 and HL2 before you went widescreen and what resolutions are you running them ...

If he does change it he should move the "-" key as well as that dissables the HUD, and other keys for the FOV function on the numberpad would would be nice as well instead of having to hit shift on the keyboad.
