I thought I'd reply to my own post, now that I've done some experimenting. I bought a fourth identical monitor and setup a 1 over 3 landscape configuration. This is what I've learned. Before adding the fourth monitor I ran the Dirt 2 video card benchmark several times for the 3 landscape monitor set...

I currently have a 3 monitor landscape setup which I love. I'm running triple SLI. I was considering adding a fourth display on top. 1. Do people who have actually done this find this setup useful? 2. Does it work ok to run the fourth monitor off of the SLI cards, or does your FPS frame rate drop to...

Same experience here. I even remember reading that this new tool was supposed to recognize SLI and surround setups and take that into account when "optimizing" your game settings. It clearly doesn't do that and I wonder if nVidia is even aware. Every "optimization" has been for a...

I realize this will mostly be subjective and there is no correct answer. But I'm curious what people think. 1. With a 3 x 1 landscape setup is it best to place the side monitors behind the center monitor so the bezels overlap? Or do you prefer placing bezels side by side even though it doubles the t...

I built a tri-SLI rig using three GTX 680s, a Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3 motherboard and three Dell U2412M monitors. The motherboard has the PLX PEX 8747 chip that allows the 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes to behave like 32 lanes. I used the top three PCIe slots for the video cards and connected the monitors according...

Thanks everyone. I just thought of one more question. With Eyefinity or Surround do all of the monitor cables have to be connected to a single graphics card? Or with tri crossfire or SLI could you have one cable connected to each card?

Thanks Daimond. Regarding question 7, I don't think I phrased it very well. My understanding of Eyefinity is that if you run more than two monitors, at least one of the monitors has to be connected to your video card by a display port connection or by using an active DVI to display port connection. ...

Hello, I'm about ready to pull the trigger on multi-monitor gaming. I have a few questions; some don't have a single best answer. 1. Should I go with Eyefinity or Surround? 2. I've read that RadeonPro can completely eliminate micro-stutter with Eyefinity. I've also read that Surround has the best ha...

Wow! That sounds incredible! How does that work with Eyefinity or Surround? Do you use three projectors? Does it take a special lens or lenses to project on a curved screen? I didn't know you could buy a curved screen. Have you ever posted pictures of your setup? I'm jealous.

BHawthorne, do you use three projectors for gaming? Do you angle the side screens? Your room must be enormous!

In my analysis of the current multi-monitor options, I don't like 16:9 aspect ratio monitors. In landscape mode, I truly hate losing those 120 pixels of vertical height. Going 3 x 1 in landscape mode gives a crazy wide aspect ratio of 5.33. That seems like you're overdoing the horizontal FOV without...

I have been an avid widescreen gamer for a very long time. I have used all the hacks to avoid “vert –“ behavior when gaming at 16:10 or 16:9 aspect ratios. However, I am currently on the fence about switching to multi-monitor gaming. After much research and “visualization” of what the final experien...

So I guess if you want to go portrait mode eyefinity, you're really better off paying for an IPS panel. So far I've only found one TN panel that can even be rotated to portrait. It's the HP LA2405wg. Has anyone used that for portrait eyefinity and how well does it work?

BHawthorne, are you sure that's true about the TN viewing angles? I know TN angles are less than IPS angles, but the specs always report the angles as 160 degrees vertical and 160 degrees horizontal. If those specs are true, turning the display 90 degrees shouldn't really change anything.

I've read and searched a lot, but things always change. I'm interested in setting up a 5x1 portrait setup. I have a few questions: 1. Is it possible to do this with five TN monitors that only have DVI or HDMI connectors? 2. If not, how many monitors MUST be hooked up by display port? 3. Are there an...

I thought I would add some information to the bizarre widescreen capabilities in Far Cry. I played a lot of multiplayer Far Cry at a 4:3 aspect ratio when it was new, but never bothered to try the single player campaign. Now I've decided to try to correct that mistake and do it using my 16:9 aspect ...

So technically, the FOV slider should be labeled Vertical FOV adjustment? That does seem to make sense given the way the slider works. But I've never actually heard of a game allowing specification of the vertical FOV. Usually FOV simply means horizontal FOV. And in this case, changing the FOV slide...

I know I'm a bit late to this whole discussion. But something doesn't seem correct to me. All of the posted screen shots pretty much look like accurage Hor+ support. But the game now has an FOV slider that I think goes from 75 to 90. When I adjust that slider, it definitely causes hor+ and vert+ at ...

I've read about changing the camera height setting to effectively increase the FOV. But is there also a way to add custom resolutions to the game? I'd like to use 1280 x 720.
