Hi folks. I know I haven't been real active here lately, but I'm still fighting for the cause! One quirk of wsgf that has bugged me is listing games as having native widescreen support...but they don't support my widescreen natively (1280x720). Obviously in this case I'm talking about EQ2, which nee...

1280x720 via Config.ini hack.

The Master Games list is misleading. This game does not do 1280x720, this is very disappointing as the game is basically unplayable for me.

Tried editing the cfg and even making it read-only to no avail.

My 61" DLP is three years old and 'only' 1280x720 and it rocks. Can't imagine 1080p being worse, assuming you have the hardware to do that res well.

It's hard to understand how games created for a 720p platform (Xbox360) don't have 720p selectable in the menu. Not the first time it's happened. Lamentable.

I just heard about this port yesterday, I'm pretty psyched. Been meaning to grab it for the GC, but if it'll be on the pc, of course that's the superior way to go.

One thing to note, I heard this rumor in a thread about StarForce. Ubi loves slapping Starforce on things (like HMM5 :( )

Well, yay. HoMaM is one of my favorite series (except IV). Now the only problem is Starforce :(

Remember, kids. It's HoMaM or HMM, not HoMM. If you include the O, you must include the A ;) My personal crusade. HOMAM!

Ah, the scientific calculator! Vewy twicky.

When I hacked Vampire Bloodlines, I parsed the dll for the 1280 string and then added in the hex for 720 to replace 1024 (so no 1280x1024 res ingame anymore, 1280x720 replaced it). It was cheesy and kludgy, but it worked!

If Wogg gets a few minutes (or mjrpes or whoever), I have an idea. Rather than constantly having to update this program (which sounds cool, I haven't used it), how about a nice tutorial on hex editing for resolution? Teach a man to fish and whatnot. I know with one game, I think it was Vampire Blood...

Battlefield 1942, wich has a maximum resolution of 1280 * 960

This is untrue. Before I got my hdtv, I played BF1942 @ 1600x1200 because it didn't play nice with FSAA in my experience with my older computer.

BF1942 played great on my 16:9 hdtv (1280x720). Use native resolution!

I've been playing mmorpg since Ultima Online. I think they are very much worth the price (if you're having fun, of course!) Most bundle a free month with purchase, so you can check it out and see if you like it. Right now I'm on Sony's Station Pass, which gives me access to a bunch of games: Star Wa...

1. Ultima 7.5 2. Ultima 5 3. Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall 4. Civilization 2 5. Alpha Centauri So many great games. TIE Fighter was incredible, Oni showed how combat should be done in rpgs. Dune 2, the template for most RTS games, the old C64 Leaderboard Golf, Sid Meier's SimGolf, Colonization, System S...

The latest EB newsletter touted HDTV support as an Oblivion feature, so I'm hoping that means the pc version, too. And hopefully some 16:10 lovin' for you laptop/wide monitor folks!

I'll need to build a new pc to play it, though....

I honestly don't mind -h at all. My bet is Oblivion will be native -h, but will really be +h in 4:3, because it'll be developed with 16:9 in mind for the 360. If not...I guess I get a 360.

What are you using for your display? An old samsung DLP, she's almost 2-1/2 yrs old now! Can't believe I've been big screen gaming for so long. So what, essentially, does the gameplay of Eve Online consist of? It's pure space sim, no land portions. You do dock in space stations, but you only see you...

Same with Eve, it's more of a space sim than dogfighter like WC. Great game, but not heavy on the action.

Eve @ 61" (12oz beer for scale ;)):

The Star Wars Galaxies expansion Jump to Lightspeed has some decent dogfight style space stuff.

I haven't but I must take time to air a grievance. Why do people call it HOMM? It should either be HMM or HoMaM. Always bugged me.

Also, III >> IV. Big time, 4 sucked imo, 3 was the best of the series.
