Renegade Ops is a action shooter that has you taking control of 1 of 5 vehicles (6 if you include the helicopter) and using them to shoot your way though the army of a mad man calling himself Inferno. The game works well on a multi-montor setups, scaling correctly, but as is common the HUD is fixed to the edges of the screen, also the score popups appear to be stretched. Once again if your monitors width is larger than 1920 pixels and you have lots of bandwidth, set the quality to original and play the video in full screen for a much higher quality.
It's a new year and Tom's Hardware has just published the first iteration of Best Graphics Cards For The Money for the year, so if you're in the market for an upgrade, and have a fair idea of what your budget is, you should check this article out.

AMD & HardOCP will be hosting another event in Dallas, on January 21, 2012. The "FX GamExperience" will focus on the CPU side of AMD's house, but there will be Eyefinity activities and the WSGF will be attending in an official capacity. I will be part of the official AMD booth, hanging out with Shane Parfitt (Product Manager for Eyefinity). I will be dispensing Eyefinity advice and will take part in an Eyefinity panel discussion with Shane. So stop by and say hello. Also, I will be showcasing the new WSGF Edition monitor stand at the AMD booth, and AMD will be giving one away to one lucky attendee.
At the last event in July, I had a great time as an attendee. I was able to meet a number of WSGF members and had a great day hanging out and talking Eyefinity and gaming with folks. This event is shaping up to be much bigger. The venue is 3x the size of the last one, and the sponsor's list has grown to include: Antec, ASRock, Asus, Corsair, Diamond, Ergotech Group, Gigabyte, Maingear, MSI, Patriot Memory, and Sapphire. The volume of give-aways will simply be staggering (I was amazed last time), and I would expect the attendance record of ~450 from the last event to simply be crushed.
So, now I've just got to start practicing in Dirt 3 on the G27 Logitech wheel I got for Christmas, so I don't embarass myself...

I've never bought into the Direct2Drive ecosystem - all of my downloadable games come through Steam. So, I wasn't aware that last may IGN had sold the service to GameFly. I have been a member of Gamefly off an on for years, and I recently rejoined when they launched their unlimited PC download option (though I've yet to actually use it). The real news here is that in January, Gamefly will be folding the D2D service fully into Gamefly - accounts will be moved and the website will redirect you. Be sure to check out the FAQ to see what preparations you may need to make

Anno 2070 is best described as a City Builder / Economics Simulator / Real Time Strategy, the game has you building an maintaining a city while trying to manage your resources while sometimes trying to fend off hostile NPCs or players that want your resources for themselves. The game works relatively well on a multi-montor setups, game scales correctly, with the main issues being the HUD is bound to the edge of the screen. Once again if your monitors width is larger than 1920 pixels and you have lots of bandwidth, set the quality to original and play the video in full screen for a much higher quality.

Forum member Blevar took a troll back through some of his old games and has updated all the Detailed Reports for the Unreal and Unreal Tournament franchises. All of the games can be easily modded to run in Eyefinity or Surround with simple .ini edits or console commands. If you've got a little Christmas cash left in your pocket, head over to Good Old Games and grab these classic titles. Check out these updated Detailed Reports for all the details:

Kicking off a new sub-series of feature videos to supplement my current surround feature videos that I produce. The "Hack" series is focused on being more educational teaching how to use hacks and showing them in action to help newcomers of the community get on board with surround configurations.
Also I think this will help spread the attention and praise well deserved by our community members that dedicate there time and efforts into fixing these games for everybody's enjoyment.

X3: Albion Prelude is an stand alone add-on for Terran Conflict, and is designed to explain the changes in the X-Universe between X3:TC and X-Rebirth when it comes out next year, the game uses the same engine as Terran Conflict, so its horizontal plus with correctly scaled HUD but the interface does span all 3 screens. Once again if your monitors width is larger than 1920 pixels and you have lots of bandwidth, set the quality to original and play the video in full screen for a much higher quality.
