UPDATE:- Black Mesa - now with download mirrors
It would appear that the Black Mesa project is releasing the first chapter of the Half-Life 1 revamp on September 14th.
The revamp is a community project to port the original Half-Life 1 game using Valves own development tools onto the Source Engine for an improved gameplay experience.
Although the project is not yet 100% complete, Carlos Montero and his army of developers have decided to release the first chapter which follows the orignal storyline upto Lamda Core which is expected to take players upto 10 hours to complete.
They will then release the 2nd chapter based on/in the Xen world at a later unconfirmed date.
UPDATE:-
Cynagen and I have noticed that getting the Black Mesa release has proved to be problematic, exactly as I had predicted, the servers died with everyone hammering F5 before any downloads happened.
Cynagen however did manage to find a download location and has shared it.
Here are some mirrors for our WSGF readers to download Black Mesa :)
