Yello, just posting this to remind you guys that on Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of July, Eurogamer.net and Rock Paper Shotgun are hosting a PC and Indie Games Show at the Brighton Centre in, well, Brighton UK. Both Delphium and myself will be attending the event on both days, on the Friday we'll trying to do the press thing, although since we've never done anything like this before we're not sure how well it'll go, but we are going to try none the less. On Saturday however we'll just be hanging around and having some fun, and we would love for some of you guys to come join us. We'll be wearing WSGF t-shirts to make us easily identifiable and we'll probably also use twitter or post on the site to let you know where we are if you wanna come meet up with us.
With regards to the event itself, tickets are still available for both days from their website which is linked below, at the minute they are announcing new things at the event almost daily, today they added playable versions of Far Cry 3, ShootMania & GhostRecOnline to their list which already includes the likes of Borderlands 2 and XCOM Enemy Unknown. More information and be found and tickets can be purchased from there website, which is http://www.rezzed.com
At CES (the last two, actually), Vizio announced and showed off their 21:9 ultra-widescreen TVs sporting a native resolution of 2560x1080. Earlier this year they released the 58", with smaller sizes coming later this year. Toshiba has just announced a 14.4" ultrawide ultrabook, with a 1792x768 resolution screen. Unfortunately, what should have been the forte of the design may be a bit lackluster, due to usage of a TN panel. However, it's cool to see another ultrawide unit coming to market.
I'd like to thank everyone for their great response in our donation drive. In eleven days we hit our first goal of $2000. This help from the community will allow us to cover our monthly costs. Like all that Kickstarter madness, we are going to put some stretch goals to help us cover other major costs we've had this year. The first stretch goal will be to cover the 2011 Awards. I'm raising the goal to $3000, but I took this screen grab of the goal being reached.
For info on donation drive, and why we kicked it off in the first place, hit up the source link to read that post. And remember, folks who donate get special badges for their profile for 2012.
If you donate $25 or more, I'll add the "I Donated" badge to your profile. If you donate $100 or more, I'll also add the "Like a Boss" badge to your profile. Please note - Prior to this donation drive, the *ONLY* people on the site to have the "Like a Boss" badge are the four-man Admin Team (skipclarke, AussieTimmeh, CrackerJackMack and Delphium).
AMD was gracious enough to give us a handful of DiRT Showdown keys. Win a copy by creating an Eyefinity wallpaper with a DiRT Showdown theme. Hit up the source link for info on the game, the contest, and to grab some art and assets that Codemasters and AMD gave us for the contest.
Entires will be taken for two weeks, until June 6th. Voting will commence for a week after that.

Well it appears that this update snuck right past us. Flying Wild Hog's Hard Reset was updated to have a proper, centered HUD in triplehead resolutions.
I have never really done this before, but I am now coming to the community and asking for your assistance in covering our monthly costs. Recent changes in our hosting costs, and current advertisers has brought me to the decision that I need to ask the community for help.
The WSGF has always been open and free. We don't charge for any of our information, our solutions or site access. Many other sites require you to register to view certain sections of their forums, search their forums or view/download attachments to articles and forums. I can't stand that, and we will never do that. The WSGF isn't at risk of shutting down. But your donations will help take a lot of stress off of me, and it will help us continue to grow and expand. We want to do more for the community, and offer more. We just can't do it all by ourselves.
Update: Thanks to everyone who donated. We hit our first goal on 5/25. Like all that Kickstarter stuff, I'm going to put in a stretch goal. I'd like to see if we can cover the costs for the awards that we sent out in February.
Here's a few questions I figure some folks might have, or might ask, so I'll try and answer them proactively:
What do I get for donating?
You get a nice warm fuzzy feeling in your heart. If you donate $25 or more, I'll add the "I Donated" badge to your profile. GOG.com continue to amaze me. They give games away for free (Fallout 2 being the most recent standout) they regularly have sales and are DRM free. I won't say they always manage to get games working, as while often they do, I've had a couple of games utterly refuse to work on newer OSes. But - Alan Wake (that PC exclusive that became XBox 360 exclusive that eventually made it to Steam) has just been released DRM free on GOG.com... and for the next seven days (I presume that means until the 15th of May) it's $14.99.
