Codemasters to fix multi-monitor FOV in DiRT: Showdown patch
One of the developers at Codemasters working on the DiRT franchise has updated us to confirm that it will be possible for Surround and Eyefinity users to enjoy their newest title DiRT: Showdown with the proper FOV in the next patch.
The information was posted in the DR thread after the issue was raised by a number of users.
Today, Axe Master posted:

It turns out that the designers deliberately narrowed the FOV when running in triple monitor mode to avoid clipping artefacts on the peripherial monitors. I have added a toggle in the hardware_settings_config that allows users to use the same FOV as DiRT3 et al. This will get released in the next patch.
Super-wide resolutions up until now have been crippled by a fixed FOV resulting in massively vert- behaviour, severely crippling the playability of the game as I mentioned in my Showdown review. This was especially frustrating as the previous games in the franchise boasted excellent support, so it was a disappointing fall from grace.
Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the next patch then to enjoy fractured metal carcases in all their multi-monitor glory! No ETA at the moment.
