Have you visited True PC Gaming? If not, you should. They are a great indie PC gaming site, and are friends of the WSGF. They've been pestering me to be on their podcast, and that has indeed happened. My episode will be up on Monday.
TPG has a great focus on indie games, and continually score interviews with indie devs. In fact I'm jealous of this, and I have to learn to do better at reaching out to devs. So, I thought I'd share with you a weekly set of highlights from their site. They have other content highlighting news from indie game devs, so there is even more to check out.

In our recent site survey, one thing that users wanted was monitor reviews. Unfortunately, the WSGF isn't set up to review monitors (we simply don't have the equipment). So, to help spread the word on monitor news and reviews, I thought we'd start sharing a weekly news round-up from TFT Central.
To get things kicked off, I thought I'd go ahead and share their major news from the last month:
Reviews:
No reviews so far in December. The most recent one was the HP ZR2740w v2. This review is an excellent example of what it takes to do a thorough review, and the testing equipment you would need.

In a recent news post, we told you that a call had gone out to release the source code to SoftTH as open source. We are pleased to announce that the code has indeed been released under GNU GPL v3.

Far Cry 3 is a open world first person shooter from Crytek / Ubisoft. It has good multi-monitor support, no messing with the resolutions, menus and HUD is scaled correct and centred on my system, cut screens are 16:9 aspect ratio, unfortunately however the FoV is capped on multi-monitor resolutions, this results in an incorrect FoV ingame. HaYDeN has however released a fix for the FoV, currently the fix isn't perfect but it does the job well enough, the Flawless Widescreen tool can be found in the Mods, Tweaks, Tools & Tutorials section of the forums.
The video itself is part analysis, part walkthough and part waffle, feel free to like or dislike my video and comment are always welcome too.
While this video can be watched on any screen it has been encoded to look best on a multi-monitor system, so if your running such a system, then select original quality from the drop down box and watch in fullscreen.
This is a skateboarding game, developed by Neversoft and published by Activision. The PC version was released exclusively in Australia as a budget release in 2005, ported by Beenox.

AMD has released details about their new mobile graphics chip family, the Radeon HD 8000M. The series is the first mobile graphics chip to be built off of the "Graphics Core Next" (GCN), which has powered recent generations of desktop GPUs.
The core clock speeds on the chips range from 650Mhz - 850MHz, while memory speeds all exceed 1GHz. Three of the chips have 384 Stream Processors, while the HD 8800M has 640 Stream Processors. All support DX11.1.
The initial chips released in the "Solar" family are targets the "Performance+Gaming" and "Mainstream" segments. Additional releases in these segments, as well as the "Enthusiast" segment are scheduled for Q2 2013.
A few notebooks have been released with the new chips, but the new product stack will be featured in multiple designs as CES 2013. There was no word on release dates of new desktop GPUs.
