NVIDIA makes it easy (relatively speaking) to do custom resolutions. AMD, not so much. Haldi has figured out how to use the AMD Driver Library (ADL) SDK to force a custom res. Why would you want to do this? Not sure. You could test "FauxEF" on a single screen, and maybe you could get a TH2Go to work on a laptop. However, it's cool to know someone has figured this out.
Somehow I missed this article about AMD's booth at CES, that showed off an AMD Radeon 7970 hooked up to a 4k monitor. The article outlines that a 4k monitor requires two DP inputs to support the full resolution and bandwidth. This got me thinking...
