I've got a single 1920x1080 monitor and two 1280x1024 monitors set up in eyefinity. The problem is that even though my main monitor is 1080 height using the two 1024 monitors in eyefinity forces the main monitor down to 1920x1024 and causes a vertical distortion (smush) of the screen. Is there any way to force the two side monitors to be read as 1280x1080 (like if the extra 56 pixels could be "displayed" offscreen) so that my main monitor can display natively? vertical distortion on the side monitors is fine but not on the main monitor.

i don't think thats possible! if 1280x1024 is the maximum resolution you won't really be able to go higher!
Maybe you could and the scale back to 1280x1024 via GPU scaling.

Check out the "Cusom Resolution" topics here, there are a few ways to force a non nomrla display resolution.

Actually it turns out you can force any monitor to a higher resolution by editing the registry for your graphics card. It might not exactly work properly (blank screen, stuttering, or smush) but in my case it does, it just smushes the side monitors a little but my main mointor displays at native 1920x1080

Even better i was able to force the resolution on my two side monitors from native 1280x1080 4:3 to 1920x1080 16:9 via the %regedit%. It causes some minor horizontal smush due to trying o display 16:9 on a 4:3 monitor but everthing looks fantastic!

Can you post the registry keys you edited for posterity?

I'm wondering if some of the links and attachment above were lost when the site transitioned? Specifically I'm interested in orthodoxwaffle's registry adjustments (I'm attempting a setup similar to his), and the links to Haldi's "Custom Resolution" topics mentioned above. Can anyone help fill in the blanks?

I was going to report the missing data on this page per this post, but the link to the bug reporting thread appears to be broken too... Thanks!
