Baseline (Widescreen) Solution & Issues
Patch 1.08 = native widescreen support.
This game is exclusively first person. There are no inventory screens or menus that effect gameplay. The game runs consistantly in Hor+ with no noticable singleplayer anomalies.
The game's HUD maintains its proper position and size relative to the screen. It does not stretch in widescreen resolutions. The only prerendered FMV cutscene in the game is the closeup on the eye in the intro scene. In widescreen mode, this cutscene is windowboxed, but does not appear to be properly centered.
Most of the cut-scenes in the game are rendered by the game engine in real time on your video card. These cut-scenes are scaled properly in Hor+, and are letterboxed in both 4:3 and widescreen resolutions to provide a cinematic effect.
Ultra/Super-Wide (21:9/32:9) Specific Solution & Issues
F.E.A.R. also supports 2560x1080 after applying the 1.08 patch. No tweaking is necessary in order to achieve this.

PATCH TO VERSION 1.08
5x1-P:
With game patched to 1.08 5400x1920 was in the options and worked when selected. Screen would blackout when scene load but only for a second didn't affect gameplay. Hud is very small.
