Why do devs lock FOV's? Why? Ubisoft's excuse was "To give players a more intense feeling in the game"

.....

I bought the game on Steam on the $10 deal, and I'm getting diarrhea just looking at the game world. The FOV is locked at around 60 I believe, and I use 2560x1600. Its like as if you're looking through the game with a pair of binoculars.

I don't think a workaround/fix has been found yet, has it?

The 16:x FOVs are higher than in 4:3, so in that respect, it's proper.

As for raising the FOV even further, i thin kyoure out of luck. Perhaps hexxing the .exe or a .dll may give yo something, but I'm willign to bet other folks here have tried.

So for now, you're stuck with what the game gives you.

I know of the ingame option, but it only increments in values of 5.

A modified exe exists to extend the FOV further (i.e. for Triplehead), but it doesn't work with the current version of the game. :(
